The Haunted Adventure FAQ
What is the Haunted Halloween Adventure?
You will learn archery. You will get a life force belt with hit points. You will run through the woods while monsters chase you...Shoot them to stay safe, otherwise, they will take your hit points. Find chests with more arrows and more hit points. Kill the monsters, save the villagers, drink beer. You get it.
Is the Event Outdoors?
The Tavern is sheltered and heated. Alot of the characters also have tented areas to stay dry in, however, you will be moving from tent to tent to complete your quests. Please dress ready for adventure.
Is There Free Parking?
Yes.
What Happens If It Rains?
The brave fear not the rain. We have undercover areas and the tavern will be dry comfortable and flowing with mead.
The adventure will proceed, rain or shine.
What Happens If I Come Late?
A wizard is never late (but you can come early and gossip with Boorin at the tavern). Last groups goes through at 8 pm. If you show up at 8:55 pm and there are groups ahead of you, we cannot guarantee you will make it through.
What Is the Wait Like?
You can book a time slot when you purchase your ticket and simply arrive during your purchased ticket time. Then you wander about finding quests and adventures. There may be people ahead of you for certain quest, which may mean a little wait, but you can always go on another adventure and come back later. Plenty of quests to complete. Or grab a refreshing ale from our tavern.
What If I’ve Never Fired a Bow Before?
That's ok. Even Legolas had to start somewhere. We have an amazing team of skilled archers to teach you how to operate a bow and arrow.
Can I bring my own weapons?
No. For safety reasons, all weapons distributed will be from The Empty Chest.
Is it safe?
Absolutely. All participants will wear safety masks. The arrows have padded tips and measures have been put in place to ensure everyone's safety.
Can kids participate?
If you are a parent and you want your child to participate please contact us.
Can I pay at the door?
How Long Does It Take?
Allow for approximately two hours for your Haunted Halloween Adventure.
What’s the Group Size?
Groups of four are ideal to go on quests. Larger or smaller groups are ok too but be warned you may be separated for some adventures.
Will Strangers Be In My Group?
No. You will be in your own group, but feel free to interact with anyone.
Will the Creatures Touch Me?
Yes they will! But rather than touching them, just shoot them before they get too close.
Will It Be Dark?
Likely. The sun sets around six pm in October, however you can book the five PM time slot here.
Can I Take Videos and Pictures?
No (with a little yes). You can take photos of most everything you see, we just ask that you don't ruin any surprises for other people and respect the actors.
What Should I Wear?
No flip flops. It's muddy. It's wet. It's nature. Dress like you live in Rain-couver. It's better to over prepare.

What Do You Get in the VIP Package?
A full day (meals included) of bow making. You'll learn the history of Viking archery and spend the afternoon making your own medieval archer’s bow and arrows. By the end of the workshop you’ll have handcrafted a custom archer’s bow that you can keep forever! Then, with your newly crafted weapon in hand, your team will swiftly embark on the Haunted Adventure quest to battle monsters, compete against a cyclops in archery contests, and more.
What Time Should I Arrive
10am. Please let us know if you are going to be late.
Can I join the experience if I am pregnant or have a heart condition?
Yes. There are no health restrictions. Please be mindful of your own limits and play within it.
Will there be breaks?
Yes. When you are in need of sustenance, you will be able to visit the tavern and regale in stories of old while indulging in delicious ale from Steamworks Brewing Co.
